AFRIBIBLE

The receptivity of Africa is a tremendous opportunity for world evangelism in the 21st century! The door is wide open for evangelism that we are overwhelmed by the call of people who are pleading for a copy of the Word of God.

It seems that everywhere we turn in Africa people are asking us for copies of the Bible. Churches often have only a few copies of the Scriptures for Bible studies. Schools want to use the Bible in their curriculums of required studies in religion. National tourist departments have asked us to place copies of the Bible in hotels and guesthouses. Bible correspondence course follow-up workers are pleading for Bibles. What a fantastic opportunity for populating heaven.

Thousands of Christians are focusing on the AfriBible project in order to take advantage of the great open doors throughout Africa. All of us firmly believe that opportunities as this come and go throughout the centuries. When they come, man-made religions such as Islam come in and fill the spiritual vacuum. So before Africans are handed the Quran for Islamic studies, we want to give them the Bible.

BIBLES FOR WORLD EVANGELISM

Africa International Missions has developed a strategy for African evangelism through the printing and distribution of a special evangelistic edition of the New Testament. The strategy is to print thousands of copies of the New Testament for distribution throughout the continent of Africa. As a brotherhood project, we are encouraging Christians to work together in the AfriBible project in order to evangelize Africa. Here's how it works.

PARTNER
Many churches have dynamic mission points throughout the world. These mission efforts continually need copies of the Bible for evangelistic outreach. What we are asking is to work with you and these special mission efforts in distributing an evangelistic New Testament and bible correspondence course. By working together in printing and distribution, everyone can benefit from the low production costs in printing thousands of Bibles.

PRODUCE

The New Testament we are distributing is not just another copy of the New Testament. It is an especially developed version that is designed for evangelism and church edification. The 21st Century Revised King James Version New Testament is a version of the Scriptures that will aid in accomplishing our goals.

* The King James Version is the traditionally accepted English translation of Africa, we chose to make revisions of the KJV specifically for this project.

PRINT
At this time we are trying to keep the cost of printing to under $2.00 per copy. Shipping cost will depend on how you want the copies you desire delivered to your mission effort. Here is what we are asking each partner to do in this united effort to print Bibles for world evangelism:
  • Send $10.00 to receive your sample packet of material.

  • Determine how many copies of the Study New Testaments (SNTs), and/or ECCs you want for your mission effort. We need a minimum commitment of 80 copies from each AfriBible partner. (Funds must be provided for all printing and distrubution of copies requested)

  • You must provide the funds for the printing and distribution of the number of copies you request.

  • Notify the AfriBible Team at the Southwest church of Christ concerning the number of copies for which you will be responsible in funding the printing. Funding for your copies of the SNTs must be sent at this time.

  • Before the date of printing, all funds must be sent to the Southwest church.

  • Notify Roger Dickson of Africa International Missions concerning your desired number of copies, as well as the address to which you want copies to be sent.

  • If we are at any time out of stock, the date for available stock is determined by the reception of funds to print an allotment of 100,000 copies. (Contact the Southwest church to determine the amount of funds that have been raised to print the next 100,000 copies.) When funds are available and printing is in production, copies are on hand for immediate shipment. You can purchase copies out of the last printing for $2.00 a copy. This cost, plus $1.00 postage for each volume for mail bag shipping, will be your cost of getting the SNT to your specific mission effort.

    POSTAGE
Postage costs will depend on whether you want your SNTs sent by ship, truck, or postal mail bag. Small quantities go out by mail bag ($1.00/volume). If shipment is by other means, we will let you know the means of shipment, as well as the options in cost of shipment. Please keep in mind that we trying to keep everything at cost.

    Easy-to-Understand Text
The recipients to whom we send the 21st edition Study New Testament usually speak English as a second language. This revision of the KJV was thus made to be an easy-to-read and understood translation of the word of God. In order to encourage people to read the Bible, we seek through this contemporary text of the New Testament to offer eager Bible students an exciting text of the Scriptures for daily Bible study and reading.

    Encyclopedic Study Guide
The Encyclopedic Study Guide is the "teacher" of the Study New Testament (SNT). There are over seventy pages of studies that take Bible students on a journey to discover and obey the gospel. There are studies in evidences that prove Jesus is the Son of God. Additionally, there are studies in New Testament backgrounds, teaching on becoming a Christian, the church, how to establish a church and outlines for preaching and teaching.

    Encyclopedic Study Course

If you are sending out correspondence courses, then you will be especially interested in the Encyclopedic Correspondence Course (ECC). This is an 8-page course of questions that can accompany the SNTs you desire to print and have sent to your mission effort. The ECC is a course of questions over the Encyclopedic Study Guide material.

When the SNT is distributed by your workers in the field, the accompanying ECC can also be given to lead the recipient of the SNT through his or her first studies of the Bible. This correspondence course can be stamped with your stateside address, and thus returned to you for grading. You can then respond to this initial SNT course with correspondence courses you are presently using. Or, you can use the International Bible School courses that we make available to African churches in order that they do their own correspondence course work.
